Elon Musk and The Daily Show are engaging in a “Debate Me” challenge on Twitter, following Jon Stewart’s criticism of Musk and his DOGE program during Monday’s episode on The Daily Show (TDS). Supporters of Musk have urged for an intellectual exchange on Musk’s preferred social media platform, prompting Musk to respond by saying he would participate if the show is aired without edits. The Daily Show has expressed their eagerness for this encounter by retweeting Musk’s challenge.
Can we really count on Elon Musk following through with his claims? Let’s examine some of his past promises to draw conclusions. Musk declared he would solve world hunger, but he did not. Similarly, he claimed he could save the soccer team trapped in the cave, but he failed to do so. Additionally, he accused one of their rescuers of being a “pedo.” However, he did succeed in purchasing Twitter. It seems that his track record is mixed.
Stewart’s criticisms were extremely blunt. In fact, during one of his rants, he accidentally broke a mug and cut himself. This shows just how passionate he was about the subject. According to Stewart, DOGE is poorly executed and lacks purpose. Many of those who were dismissed have already been rehired, and every move seems to be made hastily, with misleading information used as justification. In his words, “We’re getting screwed at a Diddy party,” he said, “and they’re making us pay for the baby oil.
