Is Ananta’s release date closer than we think? New gameplay trailer and evidence suggest so

Ananta (Project Mugen) is a new game that blends elements from popular titles like GTA, Spider-Man, and Genshin Impact, all set in a futuristic world. A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer has generated a lot of excitement. It will be available on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, we believe it could arrive sooner than expected, and we have some inside information to share about why we think so.

Is Ananta release date closer than we think?

I’m really excited about Ananta! It’s a free-to-play action RPG set in the future, and it sounds amazing. You play as an Esper, basically a super investigator, exploring this huge city that’s built using some cool procedural generation tech. From what I’ve seen, the gameplay is like a mix of anime action and Grand Theft Auto, but with web-slinging movement like Spider-Man! Honestly, it’s got me hooked already, and I’m not the only one – tons of players are already showing interest.

We’re facing a challenge because the game has been in development for a long time, and we still don’t know when it will be released. However, we’re hoping it will launch later this year, primarily for two reasons:

  1. About 9 months ago, Ananta reportedly passed the publishing examination in China. What could this mean? In China, there is mandatory control and approval of content before publication. If the announcement means that they have received ISBN, developers need to publish the game within 1 year. Otherwise, they need to explain the reasons behind the delay.
  2. Release of a trailer that shows gameplay. It is quite extensive and shows various mechanics, which means that they are already ready (at least to some extent), it might mean that development is on the late stage. It fits perfectly within the idea that the game might be released this year.

These clues suggest the game might be released sooner rather than later, possibly later this year. However, this isn’t confirmed. Even though approvals are valid for a year, developers can always request new ISBNs for the following year. We’ll have all the details soon.

Don’t forget there’s a third possibility. The game might come out this year, but initially only in China. This means players outside of China will likely have to wait a bit longer for it to be available worldwide.
