Both The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man are poised for success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with standalone films scheduled for each property in the coming year. However, they haven’t yet had a full-fledged crossover due to complications surrounding their rights, which may be resolved as the Multiverse Saga concludes.

Joseph Quinn, set to portray Johnny Storm/the Human Torch in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, expressed his desire to work alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on screen. As Quinn and the rest of the Fantastic Four cast prepare for their entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Holland has been embodying Spider-Man for nearly a decade. Since Johnny Storm and Peter Parker have yet to appear together, fans are eagerly waiting for this highly anticipated team-up.

At the world premiere event, Film asked Quinn about a potential team-up between Johnny Storm and Peter Parker as Spiderman. His response was full of excitement, saying, “That would be fantastic!” Unprovoked, he expressed his admiration for Tom Holland, calling him “the greatest Spider-Man yet,” expressing hope that their characters could collaborate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future.

Indeed, that sounds fantastic! It seems Tom’s portrayal of Peter Parker is exceptional, making him the best Spider-Man yet, and that would definitely be a great thing, wouldn’t it?

At present, Quinn is making the rounds on the promotional tour for “The Fantastic Four,” and he’s set to return as Johnny Storm in 2026’s “Avengers: Doomsday.” On the other hand, the only MCU film currently scheduled for Holland is “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which will be his fourth solo Spider-Man movie. As a result, no Marvel Cinematic Universe films have been confirmed to bring together Quinn’s Human Torch and Holland’s Spider-Man.

Marvel Studios didn’t own the rights to the Fantastic Four until their 2019 purchase of 20th Century Fox, and Sony has maintained ownership over Spider-Man’s live-action films. Given that both Fox and Sony have traditionally been cautious with their most valuable properties, a crossover was simply not an option.

In light of the recent developments in the scenery, it’s predicted that both franchises will hold significant positions in the Multiverse Saga, notably in the upcoming two Avengers films. It has been verified that Quinn will play a part in “Doomsday”, and although not officially confirmed, there are strong whispers suggesting Holland will also be included in the cast of “Doomsday”.

If the reports about Holland playing Holland are accurate, it seems likely that he and Quinn will finally have an opportunity to develop the friendship hinted at throughout Johnny and Peter’s joint comic book appearances. The Fantastic Four’s involvement in Doomsday has been suggested, and there’s a strong desire for Holland’s Spider-Man character to play a significant role in the narrative as well.
