The television series has been purchased by Telefonica’s pay TV service Movistar Plus+ (based in Spain), SBS (in Australia), RTE (Ireland), Blue Entertainment (Switzerland), as well as Canal+ for viewers in Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
“Irvine Welsh’s Crime” was commissioned by ITVX and BritBox in the U.K.
The series focuses on Detective Inspector Ray Lennox, portrayed by Scott, who is grappling with personal turmoil as he delves into intense criminal investigations in a city teetering on the brink.
The show, based on Irvine Welsh’s novel (the author of “Trainspotting”), features John Simm, Joanna Vanderham, Angela Griffin, Ken Stott, and Jamie Sives in its cast. Simm is known for his roles in “Life on Mars” and “Grace,” Vanderham from “Warrior” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” Griffin from “Harlots” and “White Lines,” Stott from “The Dig” and “Fortitude,” and Sives from “Guilt” and “Too Close.

The show is produced by Buccaneer and Off Grid Film & TV.
These deals were negotiated by Sabrina Ayala, a sales consultant based in Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe, and French Canada. The agreement with RTE was finalized by Sandra Piha, senior VP of sales, who covers the U.K., Ireland, Scandinavia, and Chris Bluett, senior VP of sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux, sealed the deal with SBS.
