As a die-hard fan of Invincible, I can confidently say that Robert Kirkman’s vision for this show is nothing short of epic! With a potential span of 7 to 10 seasons, we’re looking at another decade (or more) of incredible storytelling and mind-blowing action.

According to Robert Kirkman’s preferred approach, we could expect a steady stream of new Invincible episodes on our screens over an extended period, allowing the series ample time to conclude properly.

From the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley, the highly-acclaimed adult animated show Invincible made its debut on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. The series has gained such a following that even secondary characters are now getting their own spinoff shows, demonstrating the richness of this universe and the large fan base eager to delve deeper into it.

After contemplating a detailed vision, Kirkman unveiled his preferred grand design for the series adaptation. As he sees it, the show might span anywhere between 7 to 10 seasons if Amazon chooses to implement this plan. In other words, we’re looking at another ten years of Invincible on our screens.

Invincible creator reveals show has several more seasons planned

As a gaming enthusiast, I’d share that in an interview with Collider (during their Inside Hollywood panel), Kirkman confessed his ideal approach for the adaptation was to trace its roots back to the comic books. “Simon and I have sketched out a plan, roughly following the comics and where we’d take breaks, and it seems like we’re looking at around eight seasons,” he mentioned.

Kirkman acknowledges that there’s some room for adjustment in the plan, stating “It might be seven, it could be ten.” When moderator Steve Weintraub inquired about a 7-8 season range being optimal, Kirkman humorously responded “Or nine. I can be a bit greedy.

Starting in early 2025, Season 3 will debut, hinting at potentially more seasons for the series, ranging from 4 to 7, depending on how the story unfolds. Earlier, Kirkman mentioned a desire to release a new season annually, but he’s open to varying the schedule, suggesting it could be every 18 months, 16 months, 13 months, or even every 12 months; they are still working out the details.

If new episodes of Invincible from Amazon’s game don’t appear until as late as 15 years from now (or possibly even later if production gaps continue), Season 3 premieres on February 6, 2025, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. This serves as an entertaining diversion while we eagerly anticipate the potential release of a feature film.
