Inti Creates shares 8-minute gameplay deep dive for card-battling RPG Card-en-Ciel

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that Inti Creates has piqued my interest once again with their latest offering, Card-en-Ciel. With a background heavily steeped in JRPGs and deckbuilders, I’ve seen my fair share of games, but this one seems to be a unique blend of both worlds. The roguelike elements, the strategic depth, and the promise of over 300 cards each with unique characters are music to my ears (or should I say, the 50 vocal songs in total).

In a recent update, the game studio Inti Creates has shared an in-depth 8-minute video demonstration titled “Card-en-Ciel: Gameplay Deep Dive”, which delves into various aspects of this card-battling RPG, including deck construction, combat scenarios, exploration of dungeons, characters known as Muses, and much more.

At Anime Expo, James got the opportunity to explore Card-en-Ciel. He mentioned that the demo left him with an astonishingly positive first impression.

On October 24th, Card-en-Ciel is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam). If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, be sure to check out the Story Trailer that was previously published.

Explore the intricate gameplay of Card-en-Ciel, a JRPG-inspired roguelike deckbuilder that offers a rich narrative, over 300 distinctive cards featuring various characters, more than 50 full vocal tracks for an immersive experience, and a strategically deep 6×3 gameboard. Delve into the multitude of systems this game has to offer!

Explore at will the labyrinths of various dungeons, engaging foes of your own selection. You’ll assume command over Neon, a self-proclaimed detective who excels in solving crimes within full-immersion VR game environments. When an unforeseen wave of characters from diverse games, both ancient and modern, invades an under-construction game, it falls to Neon to venture into these virtual dungeons to put a stop to the chaos.

Each of the over 300 cards you’ll collect features a unique character from those games. They come alive with full English and Japanese voice acting, talking with their friends and foes and reacting in battle.

Engage potent Muse characters who spring into action when specific requirements are met, initiating exclusive effects to facilitate your most devious combos. Each Muse has a unique tune, inspired by the period and genre fitting for their original game, with a total of 50 melodies.
