As a seasoned movie buff with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at this latest development in the world of television. The partnership between the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Dubai Studios is not just a significant milestone, but a beacon of hope for cross-cultural collaboration in the global entertainment industry.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Dubai Studios (a division of Dubai Media Company) have established a lasting collaboration during the Mipcom TV market in Cannes.
The “Gala” collaboration encompasses sponsorship of the International Emmy World Television Festival held yearly in New York, which brings together more than 600 television professionals from around 60 nations, along with the International Emmy Awards Gala and events of the International Academy that are scheduled to occur in Dubai.
The collaboration, marked as a notable achievement in boosting UAE’s television quality and encouraging cross-cultural collaborations across the global entertainment sector, was sealed at Cannes between Mohamed Al Mulla, CEO of Dubai Media, and Bruce L. Paisner, president of the International Academy.
In a statement, Al Mulla stated that this strategic partnership aligns with Dubai’s goal to expand its global media influence. He added that the future of entertainment will be influenced by content creators whose perspectives are grounded in local culture and language, and it is our industry’s duty to support these creative voices and stories.
It’s great news that Dubai Studios has joined us as a sponsor for the International Academy! We can’t wait to gather the worldwide television community in Dubai for our Academy Day event. We extend our gratitude to H.E. Mohamed Al Mulla and the team at Dubai Studios for leading this significant collaboration.
From 2025 onwards, Dubai Studios will join as sponsors for the International Emmy World Television Festival and the International Emmy Awards Gala held annually in New York City. Moreover, they will organize an annual semi-final round of judging for the International Emmy Awards competition right here in Dubai.
In addition, “Academy Day in Dubai” for international Academy Members is scheduled to take place at an undisclosed date, hosted by Dubai Studios. This event is a prestigious, exclusive four-day gathering primarily focused on networking. The purpose of the event is to highlight the culture and media industry of the region, enhance knowledge about regional business models and cultural institutions, thereby promoting cross-border collaboration.
The Dubai Media serves as the official media body for the Dubai government, with a diverse collection of newspapers, radios, and television stations under its ownership.
