Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – A Fresh IP from Naughty Dog (of Uncharted and The Last of Us fame)! Although its release is not expected until 2027 at the earliest, director Neil Druckmann shares that the game is currently playable and feeling “exceptionally well” in its development stage.
He told IGN, “We are playing it at the office and it’s incredible. It’s really good.”
He expressed his enthusiasm by saying, “It’s thrilling to at last release the gameplay for all to see, as there’s a lot more depth to this game beneath what you’ve glimpsed so far. We’ve only scratched the surface of the iceberg here.
Druckmann mentioned that the game’s announcement trailer, which was unveiled at The Game Awards in December 2024, showcased some of its characters. However, it abruptly ended mid-action, right when a heated battle was about to ensue.
In the year 4078, I find myself immersed in the captivating world of Intergalactic, a game that’s not just about pressing buttons and scoring points, but delves deep into themes of faith and religion set in a universe remarkably different from our own. This divergence from our familiar timeline happened way back in the 1980s, giving rise to an intriguing narrative I can hardly wait to explore.
As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but share my excitement about a new adventure brewing – “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet,” which is currently under development for PS5. However, as much as I’d love to tell you when we can dive into this cosmic odyssey, the truth is, there’s no set release date at the moment.
The mastermind behind Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, has openly acknowledged that we still have some ground to cover before the game sees the light of day. In his own words, he’s still figuring out the final shape Intergalactic will take. So, fellow gamers, let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for more updates from Naughty Dog!
This game showcases several well-known personalities taking on prominent parts. Among them is Tati Gabrielle, who plays the lead role of Jordan, joined by Kumail Nanjiani, Ashley Scott, and Tony Dalton.
It’s currently known that Naughty Dog is working on another single-player game, although it might not necessarily be The Last of Us Part 3 as previously anticipated.
