Could the next game from Naughty Dog, titled “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet,” potentially make its way onto television or cinema screens, following the success of their HBO adaptation of “The Last of Us”?
Even before a formal release, it appears that studios are expressing interest in Naughty Dog and their upcoming project Intergalactic, as stated by Neil Druckmann during an interview with Variety. He mentioned that various studios have approached them based on the hype generated from the trailer alone, adding that these studios don’t know much about the game itself.
As a devoted fan, it’s thrilling to see the triumph of The Last of Us TV series on HBO. Naturally, I can understand why other studios might be eager to secure an adaptation for Naughty Dog’s upcoming project. However, Neil Druckmann, being the creative mind behind the scenes, wants to tread carefully. He emphasizes that before we even think about transmedia opportunities for Intergalactic, it’s crucial that the game itself becomes a stellar video gaming experience first.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the collaboration must be suitable, and under such circumstances, Druckmann expressed his enthusiasm for Intergalactic potentially reaching a broader audience through television or cinema.
He mentioned that there are numerous possibilities for developing Intergalactic, and because of its story structure within that universe, it’s relatively straightforward to extend its scope. Consequently, discussions about potential future projects related to it are quite intriguing. However, our primary focus at the moment is to make Intergalactic into an outstanding Naughty Dog game, following in the footsteps of our previous successful titles.
In simpler terms, Neil Druckmann stated that they are deeply involved in creating and enjoying the game called Intergalactic. They are giving their maximum effort to ensure its successful completion.
This game is our most grandiose project yet, encompassing a vast world, and potentially our costliest to date, as stated by Druckmann upon its completion.
In simple terms, HBO’s show “The Last of Us” is set to come back in the year 2027 for its third season, which might be its last. The second season recently won a Creative Arts Emmy award and has numerous nominations for the upcoming prime-time Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14.
