On a riverbank in North Queensland, Australia, Bonow found herself in a unique situation – deciding to feed a crocodile named “Clyde.” Anticipating potential criticism, the model cautioned her audience beforehand, saying, “Please, mute your opinions for a moment.

Following the viral popularity of her video, Bonow found herself being scrutinized by Australia’s Department of Environment, Science, and Innovation (DESI). A representative from DESI stated that intentionally feeding crocodiles could present a significant danger to other visitors and potentially escalate the likelihood of an attack.

So, the reason behind it is that penalties have been raised for illegal actions jeopardizing lives… Additionally, any conduct depicting, boosting, or inciting such actions as feeding them is utterly reckless.

Currently, Bonow is looking at a potential fine of approximately $26,000, as the highest court-ordered punishment for feeding crocodiles in Queensland has been increased, from $6,452 to $25,615, effective September.

Additionally, the model expressed her regret and apologized on Instagram, admitting she had been uninformed about the relevant laws, feeling foolish in hindsight.

She expressed her viewpoint by saying, “Feeding saltwater crocs is foolish and risky for apparent reasons, given how dangerous they can be,” she stated. “I wasn’t aware that feeding crocodiles in Australia is prohibited, which led to my own lack of knowledge on the subject. That’s why I want to spread awareness about this issue, as it’s crucial to educate ourselves.

It’s clear now that providing food for crocodiles is harmful both for their behavior and public safety, as it alters how they behave.

She continued by stating that she is willing to face the repercussions and openly acknowledged her mistakes.

Following her heartfelt apology, numerous spectators commended Bonow for her honesty and enlightening others about the local regulations.
