Sara Bennett dies at age 39

I was so shocked to hear that Bennett was diagnosed with ALS back in March of 2023. She’d already gained a really great following online with her organizing business, The Ananda Edit, which she started in 2020. What’s amazing is that instead of retreating, she decided to keep sharing her journey. She actually changed the name to TheAnandaPivot and is documenting everything – it’s incredibly brave and inspiring to watch.

She described feeling completely overwhelmed in May 2024. She considered giving up on her business and closing her account, but realized that letting the illness control her further would be devastating.

Before she passed away, Bennett often talked about her thoughts on marriage, raising children, and what happens after death, which she called “the after.” She even planned a ceremony to celebrate her life and wrote down family traditions, asking friends and family to carry them on. She wanted to ensure her loved ones stayed close and to help her husband after she was gone.

In a November blog post, Bennett explained that her platform allowed her to continue sharing her thoughts, teaching, and supporting others. She purposefully channeled her deep sadness into working late into the night to come up with new ideas.

She ended the post with a line that now seems like a goodbye message: “Be kind to one another and truly cherish your life.”
