Indonesia’s JAFF Market Sets Partnership With Adelaide Film Festival, Unveils Project Lineup

As a seasoned movie buff with over two decades of film industry experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at this remarkable collaboration between Indonesia’s JAFF Market and Adelaide Film Festival (AFF). The partnership, backed by the Australian Government, brings two intriguing projects – “Raesita Grey” and “Until Death” – to the table.

The upcoming JAFF Market in Indonesia is planning to introduce two Australian film projects through its JAFF Future Project platform, signifying a partnership with the Adelaide Film Festival (AFF). This first-time market event will coincide with the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF) in Yogyakarta from December 3rd to 5th.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that through the backing of the Australian Government, two remarkable projects – “Raesita Grey” by Katrina Irawati Graham and “Until Death” by Ben Golotta – are now part of our roster! AFF (Australian Film Festival) is offering support for two key team members from each project, including producers, to join us. This is an exciting step forward in showcasing these brilliant works!

The AFF’s partnership with JAFF is being expanded to include mylab, an international development project that draws participants from Asia, as a fresh collaborator. Mat Kesting, the CEO and creative director of AFF, expressed his contentment saying, “The collaboration between the AFF and the Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival has been incredibly rewarding.

JAFF Market chair Ifa Isfansyah and mylab Curator Lorna Tee have shown optimism about promoting stronger links and lively interactions among the Indonesian, Asian, and Australian movie sectors.

The Indonesian committee members Yulia Evina Bhara, Muhammad Zaidy, and Vivian Idris picked eight extra projects. One of these is “Love Unwanted,” directed by the esteemed Indonesian actor Reza Rahadian on his fourth directorial venture following two features and a series.

JAFF Future Project leader Meiske Taurisia highlights that the choices encompass multiple genres and levels of progress, catering to a wide range of investor preferences. The project’s collaborators are White Light Post from Thailand, Kongchak Studio in Cambodia, and BSM Equipment based in Indonesia.
