As a seasoned gamer with decades of adventure under my belt, I must say that the anticipation for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been nothing short of palpable. The leaked gameplay footage only served to stoke the flames of excitement burning within us enthusiasts.
For those who pre-ordered the Premium or Collector’s Editions, they can start playing the much-awaited game this year, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as early as 4 PM Pacific Time / 7 PM Eastern Time tonight. However, some lucky players managed to get an early peek at the game, with leaked footage of the first three hours surfacing on YouTube as early as Thursday.
Despite being removed by ZeniMax after being uploaded by YouTuber Lone Viking, some details about the game’s plot were disclosed. Lone Viking had bought the game from a local store for between $80 and $100, receiving it three days before its official release on December 8. The embargo on official reviews is set to expire today at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET, which also marks the start of early access.
What we do know from the game is that Indy has split from his on-and-off-again companion, Marion Ravenwood, and finds himself on the trail of a great conspiracy that leads him through the Vatican, the Sukhothai temples in Thailand, the Egyptian pyramids, Shanghai, and the icy Himalayas.
For Game Pass subscribers, there’s an option to elevate to the Premium Edition at a cost of $35 (or $100 if you don’t have Game Pass and are buying the full game). This upgrade lets you start playing earlier and enjoy extras such as a Temple of Doom costume and future Story DLC, named ‘The Order of the Giants’. Unfortunately, PlayStation users will need to wait until Spring 2025 to join in on the action of punching Nazis and hunting for treasure, as the game isn’t scheduled to arrive on that console yet.
