Imtiaz Ali Reunites With Netflix for ‘O Saathi Re’ After ‘Chamkila’ Success: ‘An Enchanted Fairy Tale Set in the Fiasco of Metropolitan Life’

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that after the triumphant collaboration on “Amar Singh Chamkila,” Netflix and visionary director Imtiaz Ali are joining forces once more. This time, they’re embarking on an enticing journey to delve deeper into modern human emotions with their new creation, “O Saathi Re.

The series, titled “O Saathi Re,” is being produced jointly by Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment. This production marks Netflix’s ongoing partnership with Imtiaz Ali, and the cast includes Aditi Rao Hydari, Avinash Tiwary, and Arjun Rampal. The filming is scheduled to start towards the end of this month. This series delves into the nostalgic sentiment of love in modern times, as suggested by its title “O Saathi Re.

Imtiaz Ali, known for movies like “Tamasha,” “Rockstar,” “Jab We Met,” and “Love Aaj Kal,” will assume the roles of creator, writer, and showrunner for the upcoming series. He will also serve as an executive producer alongside Mohit Choudhary. Imtiaz Ali’s brother, Arif Ali (director of “She”), has been appointed as the director for the series. The writing duties are handled by Imtiaz Ali and Amogh Kanaskar. Nidhi Sethia joins the team as a creative producer, while Vishal Bajaj and Pratik Nandkumar More (Shoot at Site) complete the executive production team.
