I’m Still Alive

In a recent interview, there was talk about whether Harrison Ford might take up his character again for the spin-off series, titled “1923”. The concluding episode of the second and last season of “1923” was broadcast in April.

In a humorous moment, while discussing his character from the 1923 series, Ford playfully remarked that his character was one of the few survivors when Season 2 concluded. “I’m still kicking,” he quipped, but he couldn’t reveal much about potentially reprising the role in the future except to express interest if the franchise’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, makes a friendly request. “I don’t know what his plans are for my character,” Ford admitted honestly.

2022 found me captivated by Ford’s “1923”, a compelling continuation and sequel to its predecessor, “1883”. Stepping into leading roles alongside Ford was the remarkable Helen Mirren, portraying my on-screen wife, Cara Dutton. This series chronicled the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family in 1923, battling adversities such as Prohibition, droughts, and the Great Depression in Montana. The first season aired on Paramount+ last year, with this year bringing the concluding chapters of their story to a close.

As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but express my excitement over the success of “Yellowstone” and its spin-off, “1923.” Critics and fans alike have been blown away by these captivating shows. In fact, “1932” has garnered a remarkable 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has even drawn in an impressive number of viewers. The streamer reported that the debut episode pulled in a staggering 7.4 million viewers across linear and streaming telecasts – making it their biggest debut ever!

Both Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford have delivered outstanding performances in “1923,” with Mirren earning a well-deserved nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama at the Golden Globe Awards. These accolades are a testament to the quality of storytelling and acting that these shows offer, making them must-watch television for any true cinephile like myself.

Speculation arose that the stories of “Yellowstone” and “1923,” which have gained significant popularity for Paramount, might extend beyond their initially planned two-season run. Both Mirren and Ford have shown interest in continuing within the “Yellowstone” universe, but as of now, no definite plans have been made public.

Helen Mirren Teases The “Next Generation” Of Yellowstone

Helen Mirren, who acted alongside Ford in 1923, shared her thoughts on the Yellowstone series with The Hollywood Reporter, expressing excitement about its future. “I find it intriguing that the fate of Yellowstone is in the hands of a small infant, held by two elderly individuals, essentially grandparents,” Mirren said, hinting at the scene where she holds baby John. “It’s also interesting to note that Taylor [Sheridan], as far as I know, will be working on 1944 next, so it will be fascinating to see how the following generation unfolds.

1944 marks the ongoing development of another prequel series to Yellowstone, titled Yellowstone: 1944. The recently released series, 1923, serves as a smooth transition, moving the narrative into the 1940s. It’s yet undecided whether the upcoming installment will pick up with some of the characters introduced in 1923 or introduce new ones.

Meanwhile, Taylor Sheridan is also working on another neo-Western series called The Madison, set in central Montana’s Madison River valley. This project features Patrick J. Adams as part of the McIntosh family who reside there.

1923 is now streaming on Paramount+.
