In the late ’90s and early 2000s, I was quite fond of Josh Hartnett. It wasn’t an unhealthy infatuation, at least not in a way that would make me defend movies like “Hollywood Homicide.” Blockbuster Video knew exactly where their copy of “The Faculty” was, due to my frequent visits. Now, I’m thrilled to see him back in the spotlight with his role in “Oppenheimer,” released in 2023, and last year’s film “Trap.” The upcoming movie calendar for 2025 includes another Hartnett project titled “Fight or Flight.

If you’re not aware of the term “Fight or Flight“, it’s quite common, as I wasn’t either until recently. With its release date set for May 9th in theaters, I must admit that I hadn’t heard much about it, nor had I watched a trailer. However, I was quite taken aback to find out that the upcoming action movie featuring Josh Hartnett and Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica has received an impressive 88% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

What Is Fight Or Flight About?

The fundamental concept of “Fight or Flight” is about mercenary Lucas Reyes, portrayed by Josh Harnett, being assigned by Katherine Brunt (played by Katee Sackhoff) to safeguard a criminal on a commercial aircraft. This action-packed storyline appears to be relatively conventional and may not be as widely recognized as some other films.

As a diehard film lover, I’d describe this action-comedy masterpiece as a rollercoaster ride that echoes the zany spirit of Looney Tunes. The hero, our leading man, delivers an outstanding portrayal of a tough guy with a twist, leaving even Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in awe. It’s filled with laughter, adrenaline, and just the right amount of wit to keep you hooked from start to finish. This film offers a wild, whirlwind ride of B-movie chaos at its best.

According to Kate Sánchez of But Why Tho, “Fight or Flight” is a must-watch film. It fully embraces its B-movie nature and delivers an electrifying performance by Josh Hartnett, making it an exhilarating ride from beginning to end.
