If You’re Excited For Slay The Spire 2, Give Monster Train 2 A Shot

Developer Shiny Shoe in partnership with Publisher Big Fan Games has unveiled the upcoming game Monster Train 2. The launch date remains undisclosed, but it’s confirmed to hit PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Additionally, a demo version for PC users can already be tried out.

In Monster Train 2, the story revolves around Titans – mighty entities who have taken over heaven. Previously at odds, angels and demons join forces to defeat these Titans. New to this sequel are five fresh clans for players to choose from, each possessing unique strengths and weaknesses. The Banished and the Pyreborne are two of these clans available in the PC demo version.

In addition, there are fresh card categories such as Room cards that enhance a specific level on the train, and Equipment cards that can be equipped onto combat units to grant them advantages in battles.

In addition to the original game modes, new ones will be introduced as well. Dimensional Challenges present customized difficulties, novel Mutators, and aesthetic prizes for those who conquer them. A much-anticipated mode by fans called Endless Mode will have players battling progressively stronger adversaries to test their survival skills.

In simpler terms, Monster Train 2 is like a game that combines roguelike features with deck-building mechanics, similar to games such as Slay the Spire and Griftlands. Unlike its predecessor, which is only available in single-player mode, Monster Train 2 includes online components such as daily challenges and leaderboards where players can compare their accomplishments with those of their friends.

In addition to Shiny Shoe, there’s another title they offer named Inkbound. This game exited early access in the month of April 2024. It’s a strategy game that follows a turn-based structure, similar to a roguelike genre, and it offers cooperative play as well.
