As a music enthusiast who has spent countless nights at karaoke bars, I can confidently say that if there was ever a remake of “A Star Is Born” worthy of my attention, it would be with Cristin Milioti and Andy Samberg in the leads. Their on-set rendition of “Shallow” during “Palm Springs” left me in awe, and I can’t help but feel they could bring a fresh, captivating energy to this classic tale.
Is this the fifth successful attempt at remaking “A Star Is Born”? If we had to pick actors for the lead roles, we’d definitely reach out to Cristin Milioti and Andy Samberg. In an interview with Interview Magazine, they shared memories of singing “Shallow” on the set of “Palm Springs”. Milioti recalled, “I’ll never sound as good as we did then.” She added, “I was at karaoke recently and someone was singing ‘Shallow’, and I recorded it for you, but then I thought, ‘Does he really need another video of me screaming ‘Shallow’?'” So who sang the parts originally sung by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper? Milioti explained to Samberg that they would alternate depending on the day’s mood. With their chemistry and singing skills in place, perhaps it’s time for Broadway to give a new adaptation a shot.
