As a passionate gamer eagerly anticipating Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I found myself intrigued during a recent Comic Con panel in Prague when the producer shared some fascinating insights about content that didn’t quite make it to the final version of the game. It’s always part of the creative process for games to have ideas evolve or get discarded as the development progresses, but hearing about the cut content from KCD2 has left me yearning to explore those lost pieces. I can’t help but imagine how exciting it would be to purchase a DLC or expansion that reintroduces the removed content into the sequel.

In the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, we find Henry once more entangled in a narrative that mirrors historical events. This time, he’s attempting to restore Wenceslas to his rightful position on the throne, which has been usurped by his half-brother Sigismund. However, it should be noted that no such plot occurred during this particular era. Yet, the environment and characters in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are painstakingly accurate to the historical context of the time. Characters like Henry’s friend and possible love interest, Hans Capon, who were real people from that period, can be encountered throughout the game. This makes it an exciting adventure for history enthusiasts, fantasy fans, or those who appreciate a blend of both, as well as offering a peek into life several centuries past.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Isn’t Lacking Content

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a vast game that keeps you engaged for over 100 hours. When I initially played it, I didn’t feel like anything was missing, and I didn’t encounter any parts that seemed incomplete due to cut content, which can sometimes be an issue in games. Moreover, there are planned expansions for KCD2 on the horizon, promising even more content. Given all this, there’s no need to reintroduce the cut content, but if they were to create an expansion focused solely on restoring the elements removed from the game, I would definitely consider purchasing it.

The producer mentioned that over 35 quests were eliminated from the final release of KCD2. He didn’t provide specific details about each quest or why they were removed, but he did hint at some potential features and suggested that by cutting this content, the game was able to be released approximately six months earlier than it would have been if all the planned content had been included.

Cut Content in KCD2 and Its Future

Among the facts disclosed by the creator, some intriguing aspects stood out for me, such as quests where you’d encounter Sigismund, an adventure involving the kidnapping of Dracula, and a concealed karma system. The latter two particularly piqued my interest, and I hope they’ll be reintroduced in future updates, expansions, or downloadable content for the game.

Abducting Dracula would offer an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience, as the mission wouldn’t focus on the vampire himself but rather Vlad the Impaler. To be honest, the idea of capturing someone with such a fearsome reputation or even a family member of his would be downright petrifying, regardless of Henry’s proficiency in combat or stealth.

Regarding the concept of karma, it keeps tally of your decisions, influencing your overall karma score. It appears that in this fictional universe, the consequences of one’s karma would become apparent during dreams. If a character like Henry accumulated too much negative karma, he might experience troubling nightmares and wake up feeling unrefreshed, which could affect his performance the following day. However, this theory was abandoned, so we never got to explore how it could have developed into a comprehensive system. Now, sleep primarily serves as a means for passing time or rejuvenating one’s health in this story.

It appears that the excised parts of the game were tagged as possible additions for future updates, most likely expansions. Whether this will materialize is uncertain, but I’m excited about upcoming DLC and patches. Regardless, I can’t wait to engage in a hypothetical adventure where Henry tries to kidnap Dracula!
