Over Easter weekend, we received more than just the formal announcement of the Oblivion remaster – Bethesda Softworks unveiled a fresh trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages.
The brief YouTube video offers a comprehensive glimpse into the game, revealing more about the storyline of the latest Doom (a heads up: _The Dark Ages_ is a prequel to the recent sub-series). However, it also doesn’t hold back on showing fresh gameplay elements.
It appears that humanity has divided, and they’ve found a way to contain the Doom Slayer. Now, they’ve released him upon the demons like an explosive, with devastating consequences. Particularly when the Slayer wields a massive crossbow (some fans argue it’s more like a ballista), which seems remarkably similar to the legendary BFG 9000, based on what the trailer suggests.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the team over at id Software has given us a sneak peek of updated designs for some classic adversaries, including one of the legendary monsters from the Doom bestiary. There are more demonic creatures on their way as we approach the launch, which is just around the corner!
On May 15th, “Doom: The Dark Ages” will hit shelves on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. You can reserve your copy for $69.99 (Standard version) or upgrade to the Premium edition at $99.99, which comes with two-day early access.
