Goldberg had a significant motive for declining an invitation to be on “Friends”. Earlier, his former partner had been part of this television program, which made him develop such intense dislike towards the show that at first, he found it difficult to agree to join the cast.
I found myself tangled in various expectations about what I should be doing, along with some peculiar personal issues that colored the situation. For instance, my ex-girlfriend, who was significant to me at that time, had a minor role in the pilot episode. This made me determined not to like it. It seems that Goldberg’s agent managed to convince him to take on the role of Eddie. This actor made his debut in the series during the second season following Joey’s departure from Chandler. Keen to demonstrate he could manage without his friend, Chandler swiftly acquired a new housemate, an action that ultimately proved to be a blunder.
