‘I Think You Should Leave’ Duo’s HBO Comedy Pilot ‘Chair Company’ Adds Five to Cast (EXCLUSIVE)

As a passionate movie buff and follower of the entertainment industry, I am thrilled to share my excitement about the latest casting news for HBO’s comedy pilot “The Chair Company.” Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin have just announced five new additions to their already impressive cast.

According to exclusive information obtained by EbMaster, five new actors have joined the cast of Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin’s HBO comedy pilot “The Chair Company.”

Four regular cast members – Lake Bell (as Barb Trosper), Sophia Lillis (as Natalie Trosper), Will Price (as Seth Trosper), and Joseph Tudisco (as Mike Santini) – and one guest star, Lou Diamond Phillips (as Jeff Levjman), will feature in the pilot. The roles of Bell, Lillis, Price, and Tudisco are permanent, while Phillips will make occasional appearances.

Previously announced, Robinson is set to headline the pilot of “The Chair Company.” According to the show’s formal description, “A man, following a humiliating workplace incident, embarks on an investigation into a vast and intriguing conspiracy.”

Bell is represented by the agencies UTA, Entertainment 360, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Lillis is managed by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Price is signed with Buchwald and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Tudisco is under contract with Prestige Management Group. Phillips is represented by Global Artists Agency and Thruline Entertainment.

I’m thrilled to share that Robinson isn’t just acting in this production, but they’re also co-creators of “The Chair Company” together with Zach Kanin. Plus, we have the dynamic duo of Adam McKay and Todd Schulman from Hyperobject Industries joining us as executive producers. And let’s not forget Andrew DeYoung, who will be directing the pilot. Hyperobject currently holds a first-look deal at HBO, so keep an eye out for more exciting projects from them!

As a movie buff, I’d put it this way: Tim Robinson and Eric Kanin have been creative partners for years. We go way back to their time writing for “Saturday Night Live.” After that, we teamed up to create the hit Comedy Central show “Detroiters” alongside Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly, with both Tim and I starring in it. More recently, we collaborated on the Netflix sketch comedy series “I Think You Should Leave,” where I not only wrote but also acted in it. This project earned the Emmy Award for best short form series back in 2023. To top it off, I’ve managed to snag two Emmys for my acting skills in this format.
