If you like easy-to-pick-up games that are fun with friends, you should definitely try *Pico Park: Classic Edition*. This delightful platformer, originally released in 2016, is back on Steam—and it’s totally free! It looks like it will remain free indefinitely, thanks to a fortunate accident.
Tecopark studio, the creators of the game, recently discovered that *Pico Park: Classic Edition* is now available for free due to an accidental error. This happened after an update in mid-September added online multiplayer for 2 to 10 players, improved the graphics, added Steam Input support, and made the game compatible with monitors that have a refresh rate of 60Hz or higher.
Okay, so here’s the scoop! The developers originally planned to make *Pico Park: Classic Edition* free for just a week, then put a price on it again. But it turns out Steam has a rule that once you make a game free, you can’t charge for it later. Which is AMAZING news for us, because that means *Pico Park: Classic Edition* is staying free forever! Just so you know, the newer, enhanced version from 2021, just called *Pico Park*, still costs $4.99 if you’re interested in that one too.
I absolutely love Pico Park! It’s this super fun game where you and up to nine friends work together to beat puzzles. You play as these cute little characters, and you have to help each other find keys and open doors to get to the next level. Seriously, some of the levels are impossible without teamwork and talking to each other, so it’s perfect for game nights with friends, whether you’re all on the couch or playing online. It’s just a blast!
Pico Park is proving popular on Steam, with 74% of over 1,700 reviews being positive. The free version is a perfect way to experience the fun that so many players already enjoy. Right now, over 11,600 people are playing the game on Steam, and it recently hit a peak of almost 12,500 – a new record for Pico Park, which previously hadn’t exceeded 1,000 concurrent players.
