As a devoted Hunter x Hunter fan who has been following this epic journey since its early days, I must say that the release of Chapter 401 feels like a long-awaited breath of fresh air. For almost two years, we’ve been anxiously waiting for our beloved manga to continue, and it’s heartening to see Yoshihiro Togashi’s health improving enough for him to give us more of this masterpiece.
The long-anticipated Chapter 401 of Hunter x Hunter has been released, bringing with it fresh information about the series’ upcoming storyline.
Readers have been eagerly anticipating Chapter 401 of Hunter x Hunter for nearly two years, as creator Yoshihiro Togashi has struggled with chronic pain. Earlier this year, there seemed to be a glimmer of hope when he began sharing updates on social media like Twitter that he was completing chapters, hinting at multiple new installments coming soon.
In the thrill of the latest Weekly Shonen Jump issue, I find myself eagerly flipping through the pages, and lo and behold! Chapter 401 unveils the exciting destination that Gon and his pals are venturing towards – a revelation that has been a hot topic among fans like me.

Based on Mr. Togashi’s health situation, following discussions with our editorial team, Shonen Jump has made a decision to publish the series in a different format instead of a weekly serialization going forward.
Essentially, the release of Hunter x Hunter will now occur intermittently based on Togashi Yoshihiro’s health condition, and there is no obligation to follow a regular schedule anymore. It appears this approach is more conducive to wellness.
His commitment was acknowledged, with them noting that he’s resolute in reaching the peak. “In fact, Mr. Togashi persists in penning further chapters of the story, and the editorial team remains committed to backing him until the finale,” concludes the statement.
Although there’s been no specific release date announced for Hunter x Hunter Chapter 402 yet, creator Yoshihiro himself has confirmed on Twitter that it’s already completed. The next step is deciding the best strategy for its release. A monthly schedule appears possible, which would provide more time to create additional chapters and let us catch up on the backlog.
Similarly, we’re yet to learn what lies ahead for the anime series. However, these uncertainties will be resolved eventually. Meanwhile, it’s delightful that Hunter x Hunter has returned, and I’m glad Yoshihiro is recovering well.
