Human Wallet 💼 has opened its alpha testing phase, and it’s not just about security, but also about adding a little humor to the world of Web3. The project seeks to eradicate blind signing vulnerabilities, one of the significant security threats that recently caused the $1.5 billion Bybit attack.

Users can subscribe to the alpha by adding the Human Wallet browser extension from the Chrome Web Store. The testing phase gives users the chance to test security features that are designed to prevent fraudulent transactions by making all transactions visible and auditable prior to their approval.

Blind signing, in which users confirm transactions without necessarily seeing their contents, has been one of the key security vulnerabilities across most crypto wallets. Human Wallet solves this through the use of hardware wallets, trusted execution environments (TEEs), transaction simulation, and two-party computation (2PC). These elements provide human-readable transaction summaries presented on the encrypted hardware wallet itself, not a possible compromised website or device.

Human Wallet Launches Alpha to Enhance Web3 Security with a Dash of Humor

This security strategy provides the users with the ability to independently authenticate transactions, thus resisting attacks based on misleading interfaces. Unlike centralized systems, Human Wallet requires cryptographic verification from the decentralized Human Network to execute transactions, providing an added layer of security.

Nanak Nihal Khalsa, the CTSO and co-founder of the Holonym Foundation, emphasized the timing of the launch following recent security breaches. He requested users to test the security features of the wallet, but not to hold major assets on it at the alpha phase.

Instead of entering hexadecimal code to confirm transactions, Human Wallet users insert a hardware wallet as a two-factor authentication (2FA) key after installing the extension. The backup hardware wallet can also act as a signer when deployed in multisig to guarantee access even in rare key recovery failures.

By giving high importance to security and usability, Human Wallet does not use intricate verification processes such as command-line procedures while maintaining protection against blind signing threats. This is part of the bigger vision of Holonym Foundation towards improving Web3 usability and security.
