According to our sources at EbMaster, Hulu is working on a brand new crime drama series created by Eliza Clark, and the production house Media Res is involved in its making.
Titled “Durango,” the official description of the series states:
The story ‘Durango’ revolves around Bunny and Mikey, two ordinary individuals from Generation Z, struggling in their respective careers as a waitress and a ski-bum. However, their mundane lives take a dangerous turn when they recklessly seize cash from Mikey’s ex-partner, who is actually not his wife, but rather involved with a Russian gangster. This Bonnie and Clyde-like duo for the TikTok era offers an insightful perspective on love, crime, home life, conspiracy, and passion, as they reject their uninspiring lives and embark on an adventure that challenges societal norms.
Clark is penning the television series, while Media Res is overseeing production, represented by Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer in an executive capacity.
Most recently, Clark has been instrumental in creating, producing, and overseeing the FX series adaptation of “Y: The Last Man” graphic novels, serving as its executive producer and showrunner. Previously, she had contributed as a writer and executive producer on the TNT drama “Animal Kingdom”, and penned episodes for shows such as “Extant”, “The Killing”, and “Rubicon”.
She is repped by WME and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
In the past few weeks, Media Res has announced a new project that stands out – Apple TV+ has given their upcoming drama “The Dealer,” featuring Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain, a direct-to-series order. Media Res will be producing this series, which makes it their fourth collaboration with Apple, following “The Morning Show,” “Pachinko,” and “Extrapolations.” In addition to this, Media Res is involved in upcoming shows such as “The Miniature Wife” starring Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen on Peacock, and the Silicon Valley drama “Thumblite” starring Rosamund Pike on Netflix.
