It’s quite possible that we’ll find out on Wednesday what kind of multiplayer function the game will offer. While I’m hopeful it could be a split-screen versus mode similar to Donkey Kong 64, I don’t want to expect too much. A more probable scenario is that players can take turns controlling Cappy in a cooperative fashion, as seen in Super Mario Odyssey. Since Donkey Kong also has a companion character in Bananza, it’s not entirely out of the question. However, the cooperative play in Odyssey didn’t stand out, so I hope the Bananza team has come up with something more engaging and exciting.
