As a player of Honkai: Star Rail, it’s probably no secret that the primary focus in this game involves acquiring relics. Whenever you obtain a new character, you initially need to gather materials for their leveling and trace upgrades. However, this process has a limit and ceases once a specific amount of your Trailblazer Power has been expended on them.
In simpler terms, the process of obtaining these relics (referred to as “relic grind”) can take a very long time, potentially forever. However, with the Version 3.0 update, HoYoverse has introduced some rare items like Wishful Resin and Variable Dice to make this process less tedious.
How To Get And Use Wishful Resin
Prior to the Version 3.0 update, your relic grinding was aided only by Self-Modeling Resin, which allowed you to select the primary stat on any Body, Feet, Planar Sphere, or Link Rope item. However, Wishful Resin takes it a step further by enabling you to pick one sub-stat for each Wishful Resin and two sub-stats for every four.
To access the available relic and planar ornament sets within the game, navigate to the main menu, select the ‘Synthesis’ screen, and proceed to the tab located at the top right corner. There, you will find all current sets. To customize your synthesis, choose a set and piece, then click on “Customized Synthesis” below the relic image.
You can’t use Self-Modeling or Wishful Resin for Head and Hands pieces.
In the process of Custom Synthesis, you have the freedom to select your preferred primary and secondary stats. Once you confirm, the resulting artifact will retain all your chosen attributes. You can obtain Wishful Resin by completing game content, purchasing through the battle pass, or synthesizing it using 800 Relic Fragments or one Self-Modeling Resin.
How To Get And Use Variable Dice
If you’ve been playing Honkai: Star Rail for some time, you may have encountered a frustrating scenario where you obtain the ideal relic with the primary and secondary stats you desire, but unfortunately, those secondary stats don’t suit your needs. However, fortunately, there’s a feature called Variable Dice that offers you another opportunity to roll the same item again.
After completely enhancing an item, you’ll notice a chance to re-distribute its upgrades when you go to further improve it. This process might result in a more powerful or less effective artifact depending on luck. You can choose whether to keep the revised stats or not following the reroll, but using the dice is always required.
You can only get one dice from each Nameless Honor, and that too only if you buy the premium tier.
Other than that, you can also craft them by spending a whopping three Self-Modeling Resin for each.
It appears that Variable Dice is quite scarce within the game, so it’s advisable to avoid using it on an item that might roll poorly.
