How to Use Variable Dice in Honkai Star Rail

In the latest update, version 3.0 of Honkai: Star Rail, there’s a fresh item called the Variable Dice available for use. This item allows you to re-roll the statistics on your Relics.

This artifact doesn’t re-roll the primary stat, but instead, reshuffles all secondary stats. You even have the option to retain the original stats or adopt the newly generated ones. However, it’s quite scarce and there are certain prerequisites that need to be met before you can utilize it.

How to Use Variable Dice | Honkai: Star Rail

In Honkai: Star Rail, you can easily access the Variable Dice by navigating to a character’s Relic menu, where you’ll find the option.

First, choose the fully enhanced Level 15, 5-Star Relic you’d like to apply the Variable Dice to. However, keep in mind that the Variable Dice can only be utilized on relics of this level or higher; they don’t work with anything less.

After choosing your preferred Relic, locate the Reroll option in the lower right corner of your screen, which is where the Enhance button would be for an unupgraded Relic. Clicking on Reroll will prompt a confirmation from the game, asking if you want to use 1 Variable Dice to change the subsidiary stats on the selected Relic. If you’re positive about using it, simply click Yes.

When you decide to reroll, the Variable Dice will be used up immediately. At this point, you can opt either to retain the existing stats or apply the new rerolled stats to your relic. Be aware that if you choose to keep the old stats, you won’t receive a refund for the Variable Dice.
