Tanks are causing some debate in the beginning of Battlefield Redsec. Similar to Battlefield 6’s multiplayer, you can use tanks throughout the battle royale match. If opponents don’t have players specializing in vehicles (Engineers) or anti-tank weapons, tanks can easily dominate. However, if you have rockets or anti-vehicle mines, you can quickly take out tanks.
Tanks in Redsec aren’t just lying around for anyone to use during a game. You’ll need to complete a series of steps to unlock and drive your own tank instead of finding one readily available.
How to get a tank in Battlefield Redsec
Okay, so in Redsec, tanks are kinda rare. There aren’t a ton of them you can drive, and you unlock them all pretty much the same way. Unlike things like helicopters, Humvees, or even golf carts which you can just find lying around the map, you actually have to earn a tank by completing missions. It takes a bit of work, but it’s worth it!
In Call of Duty: Warzone, Missions are like challenges – you need to finish certain tasks to earn rewards. These rewards can include things like your preferred weapons and equipment. Sometimes, you might even get a rare Vehicle Keycard for completing a Mission.

The vehicle keycard isn’t a common reward; it’s quite rare. You can earn it by completing certain missions, but not all of them. While you might occasionally find a keycard in chests around Redsec, that’s extremely unlikely. Your best bet is to focus on completing missions if you want to get one.
In Redsec, check your “Missions” tab to find out which ones reward you with a Vehicle Keycard. This tab becomes available soon after the match starts, and you can open it by pressing the button that displays your mini-map. From there, you can scroll through your available missions on the right side of the screen.
At the beginning of each Redsec match, you’ll get three random missions. These missions change every minute, giving you fresh objectives throughout the game. While completing missions is the way to earn a vehicle keycard, not every mission will offer one, so you may need to complete several. Keep in mind that you can only work on one mission at a time.
The vehicle keycard is a valuable item, highlighted with a yellow background in the mission details. If you see a mission offering it, go to that location, complete the mission, and collect the keycard from the ground. In team modes, only one player can carry the keycard at a time, so assign it to a trustworthy teammate. If they go down, be sure to grab it for the team!
After you find the vehicle keycard, a “Garage” will appear on your mini-map. Follow the map to the garage, use the keycard at the door, and you’ll be able to go inside and drive your own tank.
Tanks require regular resupply and repairs after prolonged use, and without an Engineer to fix damage, you won’t survive long inside. Luckily, we’ve put together some beginner-friendly tips for Battlefield Redsec that will help you excel with a tank when you get the chance to drive one.
