In the game called “Elden Ring Nightreign,” you take on the role of Nightfarers, characters with their own distinct skills, ultimate abilities, and storylines. These narratives are presented via a Journal at the Roundtable Hold. However, to uncover more details, you’ll need to progress through the game and collect Memory Fragments along the way.
Instead of just reading written diary entries, you can also activate Remembrances – immersive gameplay segments that take you on a journey through each Nightfarer’s history. These experiences include a variety of tasks such as embarking on Expeditions and exploring new, distinct areas. All these activities culminate in obtaining a themed skin which can be used at the Mirror.
What Is The Journal?
At the beginning of the game, you’ll come across the Journal in the Roundtable Hold. After completing the tutorial, it will be easily spotted on a messy desk to the left of the Lost Table of Grace. This large book holds the memories of all Nightfarers, regardless of which character you’re controlling.
To open the Journal, you have another option: simply warp to its location on the map while standing at the Roundtable Hold. This action will instantly reveal the Journal.
How To Unlock Memory Fragments

To advance the Nightfarer’s questline, you’ll need to uncover new entries in your Journal, which essentially means gathering Memory Fragments. Contrary to how it might seem, these fragments aren’t items you keep in your inventory like Relics. Instead, once obtained, they are automatically utilized to move forward with the Journal.
A reliable method for acquiring these hidden elements in the game is by defeating Nightlords using a specific character, which can make it appear somewhat unpredictable or random. In other words, if you’re keen on exploring more of the Revenant’s storyline, you need to emerge victorious in Expeditions with her as your chosen character.
Revenant’s Remembrances

All told, there are three Memories to be unveiled in Revenant, and since she is a hidden character, her storyline tends to be more challenging to follow compared to the others.
If you haven’t unlocked her yet, we have a guide on how to do just that.
Keeping this in mind, it’s definitely worth the effort since you’ll earn Character-enhancing Relics which significantly boost her skills.
Remembrance #1

Meanwhile, the Revenant is engaged in a fight against a Nightlord, fulfilling her initial mission.
- Speak to the Duchess.
- Speak to the Guardian.
- Defeat the Tricephalos or Darkdrift Knight Expeditions.
- Speak to the Guardian and give him the Blade of Night fragment.
- Conclude Remembrance.
Once you finish the initial Remembrance, you will receive the Small Makeup Brush as a reward. This item enhances your own and your allies’ Rune acquisition and boosts the strength of the Revenant when she is accompanied by her family, which consists of her three summonable spirits.
Remembrance #2

In the second recollection of The Revenant, the story gains momentum, taking you on a chilling journey through a manor reminiscent of Bloodborne.
- Speak to the Duchess.
- Tell her that you’re “not afraid of the Night”.
- Speak to the Recluse.
- Sit on the bench next to her.
- When you awaken in the manor, walk down the hall into the open room.
- Continue forward towards the Revenant.
- A swarm of exploding enemies will appear, dubbed the ‘Corrosion’ boss.
- Defeat enough to whittle their collective health bar down to zero.
- Interact with the doll.
- Conclude the Remembrance.
Your spirits will serve as great distractions to prevent Corrosion from overwhelming you.
Upon returning to Roundtable Hold, you will be granted the Revenant’s Chalice as a reward. This artifact enables you to employ three distinctly colored Relics: one each in shades of blue, green, and a tier level of your preference.
Remembrance #3

The concluding scene delves deep into the core events of the Revenant’s past, giving viewers a glimpse of “what unfolded during that stormy night.” It’s a poignantly sad and emotional ending, making the journey to the last scene worthwhile on its own.
- Speak to the Recluse.
- Sit on the bench next to her.
- Awaken in the manor and continue down the hall back into the wide-open room.
- Beat the Contaminant boss fight, a Grafted Scion.
- Watch the cutscene, and you’ll wake up on the bench snuggled up to the Recluse.
- Speak to her and accept the prompt, “Bury the Nightlord”.

Following the thrilling climax, I’m rewarded with the one-of-a-kind Revenant’s Remembrance skin, along with the Ancient Portrait Relic. Equipping these items grants me the following benefits:
- [Revenant] Expend own HP to fully heal nearby allies when activating Art.
- [Revenant] Trigger ghostflame explosion during Ultimate Art activation.
- Defeating enemies fills more of the Art gauge.
