In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, no matter if you’re following Goku and Vegeta’s separate journeys in Episode Mode, battling online, or designing your own battles, there are countless iconic characters at your disposal.
To access and utilize all the top-tier characters, you’ll have to invest some effort.
How to unlock characters
There are multiple ways to get more characters in Sparking Zero including:
- Buying them from the in-game Shop with Zeni
- Progressing in Episode Battle
- Completing Zen-Oh’s Orders
- Clearing Bonus Battles in Custom Battle mode, and offline World Tournaments
- Wish for a character with Super Shenron

It’s worth mentioning that many characters can typically be bought from the shop, so advancing your Player Level by playing the game and accruing more Zeni might be the most efficient way to obtain the fighters you desire.
From our observations, acquiring specific characters comes with the bonus of instantaneously granting their transformations. For instance, purchasing Future Gohan not only adds him to your team but also gives you access to his Super Saiyan form.
How to get more Zeni
In Sparking Zero, there are several strategies to accumulate more Zeni for character purchases. However, we’ve discovered that the quickest approaches involve:
- Clearing Battles in Episode Battle
- Challenges & missions
- Summoning Shenron & Super Shenron
Calling either dragon allows you to make a wish for additional Zeni, instantly receiving a substantial amount that can be used at your discretion.
If you own the Ultimate Edition of Sparking Zero, we strongly advise that you utilize the ability to summon both dragons immediately. Use Shenron for additional Zeni, and summon Super Shenron to acquire Goku Black or Fused Zamasu (or more Zeni if you’re not interested in the characters).
