In Chapter 2-4 of the game Monster Hunter Wilds, your mission involves seeking out a secretive creature called The Black Flame within Basin. Unlike other monsters, this one won’t show up on your map immediately. Instead, you will encounter it before you can successfully hunt it.
Navigating through this game can be quite challenging, as you may struggle to discover the correct path. Even if you meticulously search every corner of your map for hours on end, you might never find what you’re looking for – that’s because the game has designed a particular quadrant where you must gather a sequence of items before encountering the legendary creature called Nu Udra.
How to find The Black Flame in Monster Hunter Wilds
Additionally, you’ll find trails and notable landmarks. Once you’ve gathered these items for a moment or two, the scoutflies will pick up the scent of The Black Flame. Upon refreshing your map, it should now appear in the deepest parts of Basin, where lava flows. Therefore, don’t forget to bring a Cooling Drink to prevent your hunter from overheating before you descend there.
It appears this method isn’t consistently effective for all players. During my gameplay session, The Black Flame didn’t manifest until quite some time had passed at that particular location. I’m unsure if it was due to the game taking too long to load the monster or if it was showing mercy by spawning the monster because I hadn’t completed all the objectives within a certain timeframe, allowing me to continue with the gameplay experience.
The Black Flame, Nu Udra, weaknesses
To defeat Nu Udra successfully, much like with other monstrous foes, it’s crucial to understand its vulnerabilities. Before embarking on the quest for The Black Flame, arm yourself with weapons that specialize in the Water element and make sure you have armor with Fire resistance.
