How To Play Multiplayer in Vindictus Defying Fate

In its alpha demonstration, Vindictus Defying Fate provides a restricted number of multiplayer options. This includes teaming up for cooperative boss battles and engaging in a social environment within the village.

Vindictus Defying Fate whisks you away into a breathtaking fantasy realm, inviting you to undertake thrilling quests as part of the Kalbram Mercenaries. You’ll encounter formidable foes, engage in intense battles, and advance your character throughout your journey. The game also provides an option to enlist allies to accompany you on missions. These non-player characters (NPCs) can be beneficial when you find yourself struggling with specific missions, as they too accumulate experience.

Players offer a hint of the enjoyable experience they could have with a human ally, as the engaging storyline and tough enemy encounters found in Defying Fate appear tailor-made for cooperative gameplay. Although multiplayer functionality is available in the demo, it offers only a small taste.

Vindictus Defying Fate: How To Play Co-Op

In the Vindictus Defying Fate alpha demo, you can enjoy cooperative gameplay in two primary ways. First, by adjusting specific settings, you can socialize with other players within the hub village of Colhen. Secondly, you can team up with up to four other players for Special Missions to defeat formidable bosses.

Multiplayer Village Area

1. In order to encounter other players in the central village, first, advance your main storyline up to Chapter 1, Episode 1.

2. After completing Chapter 1, Episode 1, follow these instructions to activate multiplayer mode within the village:

  • Open Settings > Account > Display Players in Village.
  • Turn on the “Display Players in Village” setting.

Once you activate the feature, you’ll find yourself among other players within the Village. Keep in mind that the players you encounter might be chosen at random, and there could be instances where no one is present. This multiplayer functionality occasionally experiences technical issues, which will be addressed when the final version of the game launches.

Special Missions

Following the finish of Chapter 1, Episode 1, you’ll gain access to Special Operations. To initiate a match for these missions, navigate to the mission board within the village mercenary office, adjacent to the map. There, you can opt for either the White Tyrant or Blood Lord and subsequently select Multiplayer Mode. Once four players have assembled, the operation will commence. Here’s some additional information about Special Operations:

1. They offer unique challenges that test your skills and strategies.
2. Completing them rewards valuable resources and equipment.
3. Successfully finishing a Special Operation may unlock additional content or bonuses.

  • Special Missions last 30 minutes and have two difficulty modes, one for single-player and another for four-player.
    • If players drop out during the four-player special mission, the difficulty will not be lowered.
  • Each player has two revives in the bank, which heal them to full health.
    • Downed players auto-revive after some time has passed, but can be revived faster with the help of another player.
  • The Special Mission ends when the target boss is eliminated.

In the current version of the Vindictus: Defying Fate demo, you can’t invite pals for cooperative play or embark on campaign missions together. However, these options are planned to be included when the complete game launches.
