As a devoted Firebreak fan, I’ve encountered some intriguing challenges in the game, Firebreak: Inferno Edge. These Corrupted Items have an uncanny knack for disrupting my missions, causing havoc with gravity manipulation, enemy speed-ups, and even turning me into a human version of red light, green light! They can make my life as a Firebreaker feel like one big headache. But fear not, there’s a proven technique to eliminate these pesky Corrupted Items. Here’s the lowdown on disarming your Firebreak’s Corrupted Items.
Neutralize Corrupted Items in FBC: Firebreak
In games where you have Corrupted Items enabled in your character, you’ll notice an optional goal symbolized by a purple marker on the left side of your screen, below the primary objective. This additional task indicates there’s a Corrupted Item somewhere, possibly moving or stationary. Finding this item will introduce a gameplay modification, usually making your job more challenging. It’s best to eliminate these items from the environment when possible as they increase the difficulty of your role.
Find the Black Rock Neutralizer
In order to eliminate the Corrupted Item on the map, ordinary weapons or your usual equipment won’t suffice. Instead, you’ll require a unique weapon: the Black Rock Neutralizer. These special guns can be found at ammo stations within the zone where the corrupted item appears. Keep an eye out for these ammo stations and locate the one that carries the Neutralizer to successfully neutralize the Corrupted Item.
You’ll see that the Black Rock Neutralizer effectively destroys things, making it quite attractive to use. However, be mindful that its ammunition supply is limited. In case you exhaust the ammo or misplace the Neutralizer, you might need to find another one or possibly complete the mission without neutralizing the Corrupted Item.
Additional Neutralizers
Note that certain Jobs, whether they involve Corrupted Items or not, can occasionally generate the Neutralizer within shelters. This means it’s wise to explore these areas as well, as the Neutralizer makes quick work of the game’s tougher enemies. If you find yourself out of ammo for your first Neutralizer and believe there are no more in your current area, shift to a new zone. You might discover another one if you’re fortunate. Once found, you can return with it and neutralize multiple Corrupted Items using a single Black Rock Neutralizer.
Unlock the Black Rock Rounds perk
To eliminate the last type of Corrupted Items in FBC, use Firebreak. To access this feature, your account level should be at least 19. Once you reach that level, you can unlock the perk called Black Rock Rounds, which is located under the Bullet branch of the Research menu. With this perk, your regular gun may occasionally fire Black Rock rounds, enabling you to neutralize Corrupted Items without needing the specialized weapon.
At level 19, you’ll gain access to a weaker variant of the perk, which becomes available upon finding five Lost Assets (mission items) in your missions. You can further enhance this by upgrading it to stronger or resonant attributes, thereby boosting the likelihood that Black Round rounds will be effective.
As a fan, I’d like to share my findings on neutralizing Corrupted Items: here are the methods! However, if you encounter the explosive enemies modifier, don’t disable it – it can actually turn into an advantage when used strategically. If you maintain a safe distance, it becomes more of a benefit than a hindrance, as it triggers a series of delightful chain reactions with the Hiss blowing each other up.
