As a die-hard soccer enthusiast, I can’t get enough of Rematch, the sports game that truly captures the essence of the beautiful game. The teamwork aspect is undeniably key, and nailing those passes to your comrades is essential. But every now and then, a dash of individual flair can make all the difference! If you spot an unmissable scoring chance, don’t hesitate to go rogue and play for yourself. And there are numerous tactics to employ. Among the most effective, albeit challenging to execute, is the Blade Shot. If you’re unfamiliar with this technique or struggle to pull it off flawlessly, fear not! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to master the Blade Shot and turn your gameplay into a thing of beauty.
How to master Blade Shot in Rematch
In a rematch, distinctive moves (accompanied by special animations) are activated when shooting or passing, provided players know how to activate them. This includes the Blade Shot, where the player kicks the ball over their head. Essentially, our characters perform a rapid scissor kick, imparting more speed onto the ball than with a standard shot.
There are two ways to do it:
- Regular Blade Shot – first, release the ball in front of you (spacebar for PC, X for PS5 or A for Xbox). Then, approaching the ball, make a short lob (X for PC, R1+Square+X for PS5 or RB+X+A for Xbox). Once the ball is in the air, use Extra Effort (Left Shift x2 on PC, L1 x2 on PS5 and LB x2 on Xbox) and momentarily take a shot (RMB on PC, R2 on PS5 and RT on Xbox). This will make the character jump into the air and hit the ball with very strong force.
- Rainbow Flick Blade Shot – the second version uses a trick called Rainbow Flick. This move is slightly easier than the previous one to perform. To do it, start with the Rainbow Flick (C on PC, R1+X on PS5 and RB+A on Xbox); then, when the ball is in the air, repeat Rainbow Flick combination once again to head the ball upward. Next, quickly use sprint or extra effort and take a shot. If you point the camera a little bit upward, the Blade Shot will definitely succeed.
A crucial aspect of executing this shot isn’t necessarily scoring the goal right away; instead, it lies in accurately pointing the ball where you want to send it before the shot. If you manage to do so successfully, there’s a high probability that the goalkeeper might struggle to react promptly and prevent a goal.
