How to get Screamer Pods in Monster Hunter Wilds

As a passionate Monster Hunter Wilds fan, I’d say, “In my very first mission, I find myself in hot pursuit of a girl in peril, dodging danger from menacing Balahara in the desert. Armed with Screamer Pods, I use them to scare off these beasts during this initial gameplay scene. Interestingly, throughout this sequence, an unlimited number of Screamer Pods are at my disposal. However, once I’ve unlocked the entire map later on, I can gather more of these handy tools.

Where to find Screamer Pods in Monster Hunter Rivals

In order to gather Screamer Pods, you have a couple of options: one is to find them exclusively in Baunos, or around the Windward Plains where you might encounter small flying wyverns. These creatures produce a potent and disabling sound by vibrating their throats, which can be employed as a weapon against other monsters. Keep in mind that Baunos tend to be wary, so they will only attack if provoked. You’ll know when you’re near one as they appear on the map as pink diamonds.

Baunos are scattered across all of Windward Plains, however, you can locate them near the expansive space to the left of the base camp, specifically indicated by number seven on the map. Remember, additional Baunos might appear unpredictably throughout the entire region, so stay vigilant and watch the skies.

How to use Screamer Pods in Monster Hunter Rivals

Once you spot a Bauno, you can grab a Screamer Pod by aiming your Hook Slinger at the flying creature. This action causes the Bauno to be torn from the skies and fall towards the ground. If the fall doesn’t finish it off, the wyvern might retaliate by flying back up to attack you.

When engaged in battle or mounted on your Seikret, you can hurl Screamer Pods which produce intense sonic bursts, causing confusion among numerous monsters. These pods will detonate automatically upon launching, eliminating the need to verify if they explode upon impact with a target.

As an enthusiastic player, I’d guide you through the process of arming a Screamer Pod: Press and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard to bring up the inventory wheel. Once it appears, scroll through the items using your mouse wheel until you spot the Screamer Pods. To launch one, continue scrolling down while aiming with your Hook Slinger.

Instead of directly targeting your enemy with Screamer Pods for a precise hit, you can effectively startle them by firing the pods in their general vicinity. This tactic is particularly useful as it causes them to flinch when they hear the loud noise, momentarily halting their attack and providing an opportunity to inflict significant damage. To maximize this effect, consider launching Screamer Pods just moments before a monster launches a powerful strike, thus increasing your chances of success and exploiting a brief window of vulnerability.
