Borderlands 4 has tons of cool locations and loot to discover. To take on the toughest bosses, you’ll need to level up your character and gear. As a looter shooter, finding better items is key to getting stronger – some are duds, but others can be incredibly powerful. If you’re playing as Rafa, there’s one item you absolutely need to get: the Dancer. Here’s how to find it.
Dancer in Borderlands 4
The Dancer is a special armor class you unlock at level 20. It’s a valuable piece of gear because it has a guaranteed perk: it doubles the effectiveness of your Overdrive bonuses. That’s a significant boost to your power!
How to get Dancer in Borderlands 4
So, you’ve decided you want the Dancer! Getting it is straightforward: just keep following the main story quests. The Dancer can drop after you complete the “Rush the Gate” quest. You’ll fight Idolator Sol, one of the Timekeeper’s commanders, in his fortress called Idolator’s Noose, located in The Fadefields (south of the map). He’s the final boss in Fortress Indomita, but don’t worry, the story will guide you there – you can’t miss it!
If you’re trying to unlock Dancer quickly and have a strong character, we suggest playing the fight on Hard mode. It appears you have a higher chance of getting rare and powerful loot that way. Plus, with Moxxi’s Big Encore, you can fight the boss repeatedly to keep trying for the items you want.
Just a reminder that secondary perks (besides the bonuses from Overdrive) are random. You might find perks that increase things like your chance to land a critical hit with Malee, how quickly your Action Skill recharges, how long your Action Skill lasts, or your overall Gun or Sniper Rifle Damage. Because of this, it’s worth continuing to search for more Dancers even after you find one. Good luck with your hunt!
