Like most relaxing games such as Starsand Island, you’ll spend a lot of time gathering and crafting materials to build and decorate your home and create useful tools. Fortunately, the game has plenty of resources to collect!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to make Carbon Line, and it’s been driving me crazy! If you’re like me and working on Zephyria’s explorer questline, you quickly find out you need this stuff to move forward.
Here’s a guide on finding Carbon Line on Starsand Island and using it to make a bow.
Getting a Spinning Wheel

Carbon Line is a crafting material created with a Spinning Wheel. You won’t need it at the very beginning of the game, but Zephyria’s quest will soon guide you to gather it to progress further.
You can get the Spinning Wheel by learning how to make it. The recipe costs 200 coins and is available at Zerine’s General Store in town.
After you unlock the recipe for the Spinning Wheel, you can build it at a workbench. You’ll need five softwood planks to craft it.
After it is built, you can place the Spinning Wheel anywhere around your home.
Crafting Carbon Line
Carbon Line is crafted from fiber and charcoal, both of which are readily available early in the game.
Just a reminder that you can get fiber by chopping bushes and flowers with your axe. Each bush usually gives you two or three fibers, so be sure to have your axe equipped when you’re collecting them.
Charcoal is created, not found naturally. To make it, you’ll need softwood and fiber, which you combine in a charcoal kiln. Specifically, one piece of softwood and two fibers are needed to craft a single piece of charcoal.
Now that you’ve gathered the materials, head to your Spinning Wheel and combine four fibers with one charcoal to create Carbon Line. It should only take about five seconds to make. If you find yourself with more than you need, you can sell Carbon Line for six coins each.
What is Carbon Line Used For?
To make a bow in Starsand Island, you’ll need Carbon Line. As part of Zephyria’s ‘Intermittent Explorer’ quest, you’ll learn how to craft the Plume Bow and actually make one yourself.

To get the Plume Bow, you’ll need to have unlocked the second worktable, meaning you’ll need to do some crafting. You’ll also need hardwood planks and Carbon Line to actually build it.
After collecting both necessary materials, you can create your first bow, and continue making more bows after that.
Currently, Carbon Line only seems to have this one purpose, but as the game evolves, we might find more ways to use it.
