If you’re curious about locating these eggs, here’s a helpful guide detailing how to obtain and hatch Abandoned Eggs in Lightyear Frontier.

How to find eggs in Lightyear Frontier

To locate “Abandoned Eggs” within Lightyear Frontier, it is essential to familiarize yourself with their specific locations scattered across the expansive, colorful game map. Additionally, understanding the requirements for them to appear is crucial.

It’s been verified that specific regions on the map, such as The Meadows, Pine Heights, and Edge Cliffs, won’t hold any eggs at all. However, any other location could potentially have eggs, but only if a particular requirement is met: at least one of these areas must be completely restored (meaning removing Noxious Weeds and Slimes). When this task is completed, Abandoned Eggs can pop up randomly within that area. Naturally, restoring more areas increases your chances of discovering more eggs.

On this planet, the eggs themselves harbor diverse native life forms. To locate an egg of a particular species, search for it in its usual habitat. Additionally, you don’t have to concern yourself with inventory space when carrying several eggs, as each one is incredibly lightweight, weighing just 0.3 units.

It turns out that selling eggs to Lola isn’t profitable at all, since any attempt would be unsuccessful.

To successfully hatch any eggs you discover, it is essential that you initially connect with Diane and set up an Outpost for her on your farm. In her subsequent introduction, Diane explains that she oversees an animal sanctuary on another planet. She’s eager to aid you in hatching the eggs you’ve found and nurturing the creatures within them as a novel addition to your farm.

After constructing her outpost, engage with Diane to initiate her quest series. Additionally, Diane asks you to create an incubator for eggs (requires Hardwood). Luckily, she provides the blueprint for free. In your build menu, look under the ‘Crafting Constructs’ tab to find and construct the Egg Incubator.

To build an Egg Incubator you will need the following materials:

  • 4 x Copper Wire
    • Made via an Assembler with Copper Ore (found in Edge Cliffs area)
  • 2 x Aluminum Electronics
    • Made via an Assembler with Aluminum Rods (found in Pine Heights area) and Copper Wire
  • 3 x Aluminum Frame
    • Made via an Assembler with Aluminum Rods (found in Pine Heights area)

Once you’ve constructed your first Egg Incubator, feel free to put any eggs you’ve collected into it. The egg will require one full day for incubation. When the time comes for it to hatch, the egg will emit a bright glow, at which point you can press the corresponding button to ‘Hatch the Egg’.

You’ll be asked to think up a short name for your freshly created creature (within 20 characters). Once named, it will wander around the borders of your farm until you construct an appropriate habitat for it.

The Egg Incubator allows you to change the lens it uses, a feature that offers various advantages during incubation. These lenses provide distinct bonuses to the hatching procedure.

  • Blue Lens – 10% chance of two animals from one hatch
  • Red Lens – 25% chance of larger animal
  • Clear Lens – 25% chance of a smaller animal

Remember different colored lenses can be crafted via a Furnace (to make the glass) and an Assembler (to make the lens itself).
