Where to Find Riolu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you can find Riolu on rooftops around Lumiose City. They won’t appear in the Wild Zone, so look up high!
You can first find Riolu in two spots in the northern part of the map. One is on the roof of a building in Rouge Sector 4, which is the shopping area in the northwest of the city. It’s also close to the Pokémon-Amie café.
Another good spot in the northwest part of the city is the rooftop in Magenta Sector 9, right near Café Triste. You can get there quickly by using fast travel to the café.
Riolu is a very aggressive Pokémon, meaning it will immediately attack anyone it encounters and isn’t afraid of a battle. If you don’t have a Pokémon prepared to fight, Riolu will attack you, and if you take too much damage, you could be knocked unconscious.
Riolu only appears during the day, so you won’t find it at night. It’s best to come to this area when your Pokémon are around level 20, as Riolu appears at levels 18-20. Going with weaker Pokémon isn’t recommended, as they could be easily defeated if you’re not ready.
How to Evolve Riolu into Lucario in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Just like in other Pokémon games, you can evolve Riolu into Lucario by making it happy. Once Riolu is happy enough, an evolution icon will appear in your Pokémon menu, letting you evolve it.
You can increase your Pokémon’s happiness in several ways. Simply having it in your party, battling with it, giving it berries, using a Soothe Bell, or even taking it to a café to rest can all make it happier.
Want to quickly make your Riolu happier? Visiting a café and ordering drinks is a great way to do it! Each time you rest at the café with Riolu, its happiness level will go up. You can keep ordering drinks, leaving, and returning to boost its happiness even faster.
We discovered that you can evolve Riolu by buying four drinks at a café. However, the exact number of drinks needed might change based on the items your Riolu is holding. For example, having a Soothe Bell equipped will speed up the process.
