As a seasoned Sims player with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Death Flower has always been an enigmatic and elusive addition to the game. It wasn’t until the Life and Death expansion pack that I finally got the chance to get my hands on one.
Regardless of how long you’ve been playing The Sims 4 or if you’re just starting out, it’s quite possible that you haven’t tried to grow a Death Flower yet.
The Funeral Blossom is an extraordinary artifact possessing the power to resurrect Sims or prepare Ambrosia, a meal capable of returning spirits to their physical forms. The Grim Reaper holds this item in high esteem.
If you’re progressing with the latest additions in The Sims 4: Life and Death expansion pack, don’t forget to figure out how to obtain this plant and have it in your inventory.
Every way to get a Death Flower
The best way to get a Death Flower is by either grafting plants or purchasing it in Caster’s Alley. There are three other alternatives, but they’re either less effective or rely on cheats.
Grafting plants
To cultivate your own Death Flower, you’ll first need to advance to the level 5 Gardener. Subsequently, you should carefully combine certain plants step by step.
- Create an Orchid: Graft a Lily and a Snapdragon. Both are often found in Willow Creek.
- Create a Pomegranate: Graft an Apple and a Cherry. Apples come in seed packets, while cherries are found in Oasis Springs.
- Produce the Death Flower: Once you have an Orchid and Pomegranate, graft them together to create your Death Flower.
As a gamer, if I want my Sim to discover Death Plants organically, I’ve found that the best approach is to dig deep into their properties by studying them on a computer first, and then engage in friendly chats with various plants to share the newfound knowledge.
Using cheats
If gardening’s not your thing, cheats are a quick alternative.
- Open the cheat menu with Ctrl + Shift + C, type testingcheats true, and hit Enter.
- Then type bb. Show hidden objects and go to Build/Buy mode.
- Search for the Death Flower (it costs 1,200 Simoleons) and place it in your Sim’s inventory.
Purchasing Rare Seed Packets or heading to Caster’s Alley
Once your Gardening expertise reaches level 10, you’ll be able to purchase exclusive seed packs online at a cost of 1,000 Simoleons each. These seed packs might contain a Death Flower, but it isn’t certain that they will.
Instead, visit Caster’s Alley’s Potion Ingredients Shop after the Realm of Magic expansion. Occasionally, you can buy Death Flowers there.
Fishing or Wishing on a Well
There are two more alternatives you can try, though I’d first cross the above off my list if I were you.
- Fishing offers a rare, though less reliable, chance of finding a Death Flower. Cast a line and hope for the best – but know this method is luck-dependent.
- If you own the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack, ghost Sims can use the wishing well and wish for a Death Flower as one possible outcome. This one’s a bit unpredictable but can be fun to try.
Here’s all there is about Death Flowers in The Sims 4! Don’t forget to explore other features of the Life and Death expansion too, such as crafting Heirlooms and mastering your skills as a Reaper to become the top ghost in town.
