Fix for fatal error in TES Oblivion Remastered

However, some players have encountered a frustrating issue – a fatal error when exiting the game that wipes out their progress. So, what can be done to address this problem?

Users found out that the remedy is quite straightforward. It seems that Windows Defender may be preventing an essential operation which saves game progress onto your hard drive. To confirm if this is the problem you’re encountering, please follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the Windows Defender icon in the taskbar and select “Open” or “Run new task”.
2. In the User Account Control window that appears, choose “More options” and then click “Run as administrator”.
3. Type “Windows Defender” into the text field and press Enter.
4. Once Windows Defender opens, go to the “Firewall & network protection” settings.
5. Click on “Advanced settings” at the bottom of the page.
