How to find and complete the sixth trial in Dune: Awakening

In the game Dune: Awakening, the Sixth Trial of Aql stands out as one of the most perplexing and finely-tuned obstacles.

Unlike other trials that focus on your agility or battle prowess, this one immerses you in a labyrinthine cave network situated within hostile, upper-level territories. Locating the altar alone is a perplexing riddle. To make matters worse, you may encounter aggressive non-player characters, impassable paths, and maze-like tunnels, making it no surprise that many players often find themselves stumped here.

After encountering my fair share of detours, I’ve carefully charted the right course and outlined the obstacles ahead to ensure you can navigate the challenge efficiently, avoiding unnecessary delays or unnecessary risks.

Sixth Trial location

Firstly, your journey should start by heading towards the uppermost north-eastern part of the map. That’s where you’ll discover the Devil’s Eye Cavern.

Make sure to put a respawn marker right away upon entering the cave, hidden as it is among the rocky outcrops and somewhat difficult to spot. Inside, be aware that the environment is challenging and unforgiving, especially for those lacking proper equipment.

Prepare for potential opposition within the cavern. Carry a reliable weapon and medical provisions. Additionally, you’ll uncover valuable treasures such as a firearm (equivalent to a rifle) and essential supplies.

Navigating through this cavern is quite tricky due to numerous blocked routes, deceiving passages, and blind alleys. The correct path includes going downwards and curving around into a somewhat concealed passageway that eventually takes you to the trial site. If you come across fallen paths and murals, you’re on the right path.

How to solve the Sixth Trial

In contrast to previous challenges, the Sixth Trial is less about brutal combat and more about delving into the rich history of this world. When I reach the altar, it’s clear that something has happened here, and the surrounding murals hint at a connection with the Zensunni wanderers – ancestors of the Fremen we know today.

Engage with the altar. Here, you’re not expected to confront a battle; rather, the encounter is centered around exploration and comprehension. This setting suggests the spiritual odyssey of the Fremen, their migrations, and their metamorphoses.

In simpler terms, your character will ponder over the mix of devastation and splendor in the location, recognizing links between old customs and current challenges. Following a brief, introspective moment, the trial comes to an end on its own.
