How to Deflect Beams in Sparking Zero (Xbox Controller, PS5 DualSense, PC Keyboard)

As a seasoned Dragon Ball Sparking Zero player with countless hours spent mastering the art of ki blasts and beams, I can confidently say that learning to deflect these powerful attacks is no walk in the park. It’s a skill that requires patience, precision, and an uncanny sense of timing – traits I seem to have developed during my years of battling intergalactic foes!

To become proficient in Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero, expect numerous hours of practice and potential frustration. While many fundamental attacks are user-friendly, the more intricate and stylish moves can be challenging to master. Yesterday, we delved into sonic sway and dodging techniques. Today, let’s explore deflecting beams.

How to Deflect Beams in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

If you’re trying to dodge beams, let me tell you, it’s no easy feat! I wouldn’t dare say I’ve perfected it myself, but mastering special moves always takes practice and timing. To teleport out of harm’s way, time your guard button press just right. However, this won’t deflect the beam. For that, you need to carefully follow the button combination shown below. Trust me, it’s much harder than simply dodging with a well-timed guard!

  1. Standard – B + Y (Xbox Controller) / Circle + Triangle (PS5 DualSense),
  2. Classic – Sadly, at this point I don’t know yet. I have tried various combinations but couldn’t trigger deflection.
  3. Keyboard – Q + E (keyboard).

If you’re looking to develop this ability, a wise choice would be to engage in a training exercise and select the “Defensive Strategy Blast”.

How to Deflect and Reflect KI blasts in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

When it comes to Ki blasts, they might not be as awe-inspiring as beams, but they can still pose a threat. It’s wise to deflect or reflect them if you can. Here’s how: To deflect projectiles, just press the guard button after they are fired (you can simply hold it). On the other hand, to deflect them, you need to press the button right before the energy reaches you, which can be quite challenging. You can train for this by sparring with Piccolo. These techniques are called “Ki Blast Reflection” and “Ki Blast Deflection”.

  1. Classic – B (Xbox) / Circle (PS5 DualSense),
  2. Standard – RB (Xbox) / R1 (PS5 DualSense),
  3. Keyboard – E.
