How to defeat Jackenstein in Deltarune. All you need to know

Seven years following its initial unveiling, Tom Fox elected to make the complete release of Deltarune accessible to the public. While there may still be some uncertainty regarding the number of chapters and their pricing, the game is primarily available for purchase, with additional story elements being added gradually. To date, Deltarune has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm on Steam, garnering a staggering 98% positive reviews from nearly 9000 users (at the time this article was written). This exceptional reception can be attributed to the creator’s innovative approach to the genre, characterized by a unique fighting system. The game blends the traditional jRPG concept of turn-based battles with interactive elements, a combination that has proven popular in similar productions, such as Clair Obscure Expedition 33. However, some players may find it confusing and certain fights particularly challenging, so let’s explore strategies for defeating Jackenstein.

Defeating Jackenstein in Deltarune made easy

Deltarune, a game developed by Toby Fox in 2015 following Undertale, maintains the theme of hidden truths. It’s not immediately clear how to go fullscreen or even how to fight certain enemies, making some battles quite challenging. If you find yourself stuck at chapter 4, facing Jackenstein and feeling fearful, you’ll need to confront your fear and conquer that adversary to move forward. But how?

In Jackenstein’s case, it seems that the traditional saying “Offense is the best defense” doesn’t apply. Instead, you’ll need to regularly choose the “defend” option, navigating through challenging 2D labyrinths in search of an exit. However, before you can escape, you’ll first have to discover a key to open the way out. As you progress, collect glowing dots similar to Pacman to amass Tension Points (TP). Watch out though, as a pursuing pumpkin will increase the difficulty of your unique fight.

Once Kris has accumulated sufficient resources, they’ll gain access to a skill called “unleash” from the action menu. This move costs 60% of their TP each time it’s used. When activated, Kris can counterattack Jackenstein in a manner similar to Pacman, charging at him. However, it’s important to note that merely using “unleash” once won’t be enough to defeat the boss. Instead, multiple uses of this skill will be required to ultimately progress to chapter 4. It might take several attempts, but with persistence, Kris will master the use of “unleash”.

Although Deltarune seems incredibly popular, it’s unfortunate that Xbox players are currently excluded. But remember, anything can happen in the future! Perhaps they’ll get a chance to delve into the fresh stories penned by Toby Fox someday. Who knows, perhaps it will even join Game Pass – so hang in there and good luck!
