Uncover the essentials of setting the challenge levels in The First Berserker Khazan, including how to adjust them and the effect they have on your gaming experience.
In simpler terms, “The First Berserker Khazan” is a game similar to the souls-like genre, but with unique features. Unlike many games in this category, “The First Berserker Khazan” offers multiple levels of difficulty, similar to traditional hack-and-slash or action games. When you begin a new game, the default setting is the ‘Normal’ mode. However, once you reach a certain level, the game allows you to switch to an easier difficulty setting.
In contrast to many action games, the difficulty settings in The First Berserker Khazan aren’t clearly defined. Rather than scaling up or down the overall challenge, these settings primarily modify the amount of damage you receive from specific enemy assaults.
Additionally, The First Berserker Khazan features special awards that can only be unlocked when playing on specific challenge levels. Here’s a breakdown of the game’s difficulty settings.
What Are the Difficulty Presets in The First Berserker Khazan?
In The First Berserker Khazan, you can choose from two levels of challenge – “Easy” and “Normal”. The standard setting is “Normal”, which is the suggested level of difficulty for the game. For those who are new to the souls-like or action RPG genre, there’s also an option for a more forgiving “Easy” mode.
In The First Berserker, unlike other action RPGs I’ve played, the easy setting doesn’t tone down enemy aggression or power. Instead, it boosts my defensive stats, making me tougher to take down. Apart from that, the Easy and Normal settings are pretty much the same. The Easy mode is a fantastic choice for players like me who want to smoothly sail through the story without too many obstacles in the way.
If you’re accustomed to the souls-like genre, it’s advisable to choose the standard setting in The First Berserker Khazan. The difficulty levels in this game are much like Remnant 2, where the simpler settings primarily boost the player’s defenses rather than providing a more challenging experience.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that The First Berserker offers more than just adjustable difficulty levels. It boasts an expansive leveling system with no restrictions, allowing you to amass “Lacrima” and amplify your character’s power before challenging a boss. Plus, it introduces a spirit summon mechanic, similar to Elden Ring or Lies of P, which adds another layer of strategy and excitement to the gameplay experience.
Just as I do with my character in Lies of P, I can boost the stats of my Advocate’s Spirit – base HP, attack strength, and resilience – for a more powerful gaming experience.
How To Change the Difficulty Presets?
In The First Berserker Khazan, when you begin a new game, it sets the difficulty level to Normal as standard. But if you keep on dying repeatedly to the same enemies or bosses, the game will provide an automatic switch to the Easy Mode. Additionally, you have the flexibility to adjust the game’s difficulty at any point during play by navigating to the Accessibility section within the Options menu.
As a gaming enthusiast, I must clarify that when you decide to adjust the difficulty level during gameplay, it’s important to understand that you’ll have to start over from a checkpoint if you make the switch. For instance, moving from Normal to Easy is permanent and you won’t be able to revert back to Normal after that. To earn the trophy “The Expert’s Journey” in The First Berserker Khazan, which is awarded for completing the game on Normal difficulty, it’s crucial to keep this in mind as switching to Easy mid-playthrough will erase your progress towards this trophy.
