In the final two seasons of “Suits”, there was a noticeable shift from its early episodes, but the decline of this legal drama actually started much earlier than when Patrick J. Adams’ character, Mike Ross, departed from the show. For five seasons, the dynamic duo consisting of Mike and Harvey Specter were the core essence of “Suits”. Their engaging dialogues and mentor-mentee bond created some of the series’ most memorable moments. The departure of Mike left a void that the show struggled to fill effectively.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my perspective on the captivating series, “Suits.” The narrative revolves around me, or rather, Mike Ross – a college dropout who cleverly lands a job at a top-tier law firm by deceiving Harvey Specter about my actual qualifications. Though Harvey is privy to my secret, the rest of Pearson Hardman remains blissfully unaware, and the heart-pounding tension lies in maintaining this facade. However, when the truth eventually came out, it was just a matter of time before the show’s exceptional quality began to wane, and that decline happened sooner than expected.
Mike Ross Got Out Of Jail In Suits Season 6, Episode 10
Mike Was Supposed To Be In Prison For Two Years
Mike, who had been pretending to be a lawyer for some time, knew that eventually his deceit would catch up to him. And in the fifth season of ‘Suits’, episode 10 titled “Faith”, Harvey’s trusted associate was indeed arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit fraud when his secret was exposed. However, he didn’t serve his full two-year sentence; instead, Mike struck a deal with Sean Cahill, which resulted in the imprisonment of William Sutter.
After serving just three months in jail, I found myself grappling with my new reality as a convicted felon. By Season 6, Episode 10 of Suits, I was back out on the streets, but reclaiming my old life wasn’t that simple. The stigma of my past actions made it incredibly difficult for me to find my footing in a world that seemed unwilling to give me a second chance.
Mike Getting Out Of Jail So Fast Lowered The Stakes
Suits Wasn’t The Same After Mike Was Released From Prison
As a movie reviewer, I must say that the gripping narrative of ‘Suits’ hinged on Mike Ross’ secret and his potential exposure. However, when Mike miraculously got out of jail so quickly, the entire show took an unexpected turn. For five seasons, the series deftly navigated the ethical quagmire surrounding Mike practicing law without a degree or license. Yet, his arrest and subsequent release flipped that dynamic on its head.
The consequences Mike faced had a profound impact on ‘Suits’, as they added an element of unpredictability to the plot. While it was inevitable that he would eventually have to face the music for his actions, it didn’t necessarily elevate the legal drama to greater heights. After all, what goes up must come down, and Mike had it coming. But alas, that didn’t magically transform the show into a masterpiece of courtroom drama.
Instead of just serving three months after deceiving his clients for such an extended period felt underwhelming. When Mike emerged from prison, he had changed drastically, which seemed to diminish the interest in Suits. The show could have been more compelling if Mike had remained in jail longer and Harvey and Mike had worked together to find a way to release him that would have further highlighted their relationship dynamics.
Suits Lost What Made It Special Once Mike Got Out Of Jail
Mike Became A Regular Guy After He Got Out Of Jail
What made Suits a highly respected and widely watched legal drama was the secret of the character Mike, who wasn’t actually a lawyer. This unique aspect gave the show an edge, as the constant fear that he would be found out created suspenseful tension. However, when his secret was revealed, the show lost its special appeal, especially since Mike got out of jail relatively quickly. Consequently, seasons 7 through 9 of Suits were less engaging compared to earlier seasons.
The show “Suits” never aimed for realism in its portrayal of law, as demonstrated by the lengthy five seasons before Mike faced consequences. Therefore, it’s possible that the series could have ended without him being apprehended or imprisoned, keeping its appeal instead of fading into a pale imitation of itself. It’s not that the post-prison “Suits” was poor quality overall—it simply transitioned into a standard legal drama following that event.
