These huge conflicts, whether it’s a castle under siege or dragons causing destruction, usually feel like the culmination of all the political plotting that happened throughout the season. That’s why the ending of House of the Dragon season two was such a surprise.

Going into the second season of House of the Dragon, everyone expected the finale to center around the Battle of the Gullet, and it absolutely delivered.
