As a huge Game of Thrones fan, I’m so excited to hear that even more news is on the way! Especially because HBO just announced when we’ll finally get to see the trailer for Season 3 of House of the Dragon!

When is the House of the Dragon Season 3 trailer release date?

HBO has announced the trailer for Season 3 of House of the Dragon will debut on February 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. EST. A new image accompanying the announcement features Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen sitting on the Iron Throne.

The poster confirms the third season will premiere in June. Plus, the show has been renewed for a fourth season, which will be the last. House of the Dragon has had a mixed journey – the first season was a huge hit, but the second received criticism, even from author George R.R. Martin, who noted creative differences with showrunner Ryan Condal.

Season 3 of House of the Dragon will bring back familiar faces, including Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra, Matt Smith as Daemon, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent. Other returning cast members include Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, Harry Collett, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Tom Taylor, Tom Bennett, Freddie Fox, and several others.

This series tells the story of the Targaryen family – the last dragon riders after a devastating event called the Doom of Valyria – and how they rose to power and eventually fell. It was created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, who also serve as executive producers, along with Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.
